The K-9 unit has proven to be a tremendous asset for our department in an effort to safeguard our community.

Meet Leo

LeoWe are very excited to welcome our newest K-9 Deputy, Leo handled by Deputy Travis McDonah.

The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office has maintained a strong commitment to the fight against drugs in our community and the use of the Drug K-9 is a valuable tool in that fight. To assist in this fight we would appreciate any support you can provide toward this program. Thank you for supporting our department in the fight against drugs in our communities.

In Memory of Shawnee

shawneeK-9 Shawnee von Bachbett was our K-9 Officer from July 2011 to November 2012. Sadly, K-9 Shawnee was put to sleep in December 2012, at the age of five, due to a terminal medical condition. K-9 Shawnee specialized in narcotic detection and tracking humans. K-9 Shawnee contributed to 12 felony and 59 misdemeanor drug related arrests in the 15 months she was an active K-9 Officer with our office. She was recognized by the United States Police Canine Associate with a plaque for her services in the K-9 field. K-9 Shawnee is gone, but not forgotten for her service in Trempealeau County.
