In 2007, during the first term of Sheriff Richard Anderson, deputies emphasized the importance and need for an Honor Guard Team to represent Law Enforcement in Trempealeau County. Shortly after, a team of six members, who trained in basic marching drills, flag etiquette, ceremonial rifle and police funeral procedures, was formed.
The team will also be used for funerals to memorialize the life of a retired police officer and to show honor to the flag of the United States of America in various events.
Sheriff Anderson felt tribute should be paid for the sacrifice made by officers who have given their lives in the line of duty and to honor our military personnel that have served this great country.
