Taavi McMahon

Taavi McMahon is a proud long time Hegg resident whose parents operated the Hegg Store until it closed in 1980. He went to elementary school in Blair until his parents decided to relocate to Botswana, Africa in 1980 for a volunteer assignment. After returning from Botswana he attended High School at St. John's Preparatory school in Collegeville, Minnesota. In 1991 He earned a double major from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Geography and Latin American Studies and spent his Junior year in Lima, Peru.

McMahon received his Law degree from Seattle University in 2002 and has practiced law in Wisconsin since 2004.

First appointed Special Prosecutor in June of 2012 by the Honorable John Damon, he was then appointed by the Governor in October 2012 and then elected in November 2012 to his first term as District Attorney for Trempealeau County.

McMahon is honored to serve the people of Trempealeau County and is committed to public safety. His office has an open door policy and the public is invited to attend any open Court proceedings as well as visit with him to address any questions or concerns.



Assistant District Attorney
John H. Sacia

John Sacia was raised in southern Trempealeau County, and graduated from Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a bachelor's degree in sociology and legal studies. In 2013, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Sacia is privileged to serve the people of Trempealeau County.
