Circuit Court

Welcome from the Judge

Welcome to the Trempealeau County court system. Our court works for approximately 28,000 people who call this home. The Circuit Court of Trempealeau County is a court of general jurisdiction. There is one Circuit Court Judge elected every six years. All criminal and civil matters arising in the county are heard in this court. The cases include felony, misdemeanor, traffic, personal injury, collection, probate, and juvenile. In 2010, the Clerk of courts had over 7,300 filings of all types. As Chief Justice Abrahamson states, "The Wisconsin courts do not work for special interests, associations, advocacy groups or political parties of any kind, pro- or anti- anything. We work for you - the people of the state. You are the "all" in Justice for all.
