IMMUNIZATION

is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas that
enters our homes from the soil. It is known to
increase our risk of lung cancer. A report from the
National Academy of Sciences (NAS) on February 13,
1998 confirms the US EPA public health risk of
exposure to RADON in the home environment and that
RADON causes between 15,000 to 22,000 lung cancer
deaths each year. Many areas in Wisconsin have been
identified as having a high potential for this
important public health concern with RADON levels
exceeding the US EPA recommended action level of 4.0
pCi/l (Annual Average Exposure). All homes should be
tested, it's easy and inexpensive, and lowering
RADON levels can be achieved!
There are 12 Radon Information Centers located
throughout the State of Wisconsin. A health
professional that is able to provide radon
information and consultation to residents staffs
each center.
