MINUTES Trempealeau County Personnel/Bargaining Committee August 30, 2007 Committee Chair Raymond Seiler called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m. in the Wisconsin Room of the Courthouse in Whitehall, Wisconsin. The open meeting law requirements were met. Committee members present: Others in attendance: Dick Miller Dana Conrad Raymond Seiler Sheryl Johnson Barbara Semb Chris Hovell Douglas Winters Charles Zauner Motion by Douglas Winters and seconded by Barbara Semb to adopt the agenda. Motion carried unanimously. The minutes from the previous meeting were tabled until the next meeting. Health Insurance Bids Dana Conrad and Sheryl Johnson reported that the State health plan rates increased 5.8% for 2008. The Health Care Center is staying with the State Plan. The health insurance work group voted to stay with the State Plan also. They reported that no bids were received providing what they asked for. The companies did not compare the proposals to current coverage. The work group will continue to meet and look at options for 2009. Personnel Requisition – Director/Health Officer The Board of Health has appointed Nicole Hunger as interim Health Officer. After discussion, a motion by Dick Miller and seconded by Charles Zauner to fill the Health Officer position and go to the Executive/Finance Committee on September 4th. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Douglas Winters and seconded by Dick Miller to approve Nicole Hunger as interim Health Officer at her current rate. Motion carried unanimously. Human Services Information and Discussion on Interim Director of Social Services Raymond Seiler said that he will contact Bev next week on this matter. Closed Session per WI Stat. 19.85(1)(c) and (e) to Consider Employment, Promotion, Compensation or Performance Evaluation Data and to Discuss Bargaining Strategies in Connection with Union Contracts where Competitive or Bargaining Reasons Require a Closed Session Motion by Barbara Semb and seconded by Charles Zauner at 5:41 p.m. to go into closed cession per WI Stat. 19.85(1)(c) and (e) to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data and to discuss bargaining strategies in connection with union contracts where competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. Motion carried unanimously. Reconvene Into Open Session The Committee reconvened into open session at 6:44 p.m. The following motion was made in closed session: Motion by Dick Miller and seconded by Douglas Winters to reconvene into open session. Motion carried unanimously. The next meeting will be either September 11 at 10:00 a.m. or September 18 at 8:30 a.m. Motion by Douglas Winters and seconded by Barbara Semb to adjourn the meeting at 6:46 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
