Loop # 2  32 Miles

Breathtaking Highs & Lows

This majestic 32 mile loop can begin in the village of Trempealeau and offers a four-mile extension and per and perhaps the most beautiful views of any of the loops.  As you travel along the Mississippi River flood plains, barges and other river traffic add to the flavor of the area.  Don't be surprised to hear the melodious sounds of a calliope as a colorful steam boat rounds a bend.  This loop will skirt the edges of Perrot State Park, a wonderful spot for hiking, camping and picnics, and take you through two of the smallest hamlets in the county---Dodge and Pine Creek.  Watch for eagles and egrets as you pass along the wildlife refuge.  Be prepared for some of our most breathtaking and diverse scenery.  You will encounter about 20 miles of easy biking, eight miles of lovely rolling countryside and about four miles of high climbs and deep valleys.  You will pass near the village of Centerville should you need a break.  For a day of surprises and magical encounters, Loop# 2 is hard to equal.
